Lifeguard Training
Train to become a professional Lifeguard at the YMCA of Norwalk! Successful candidates will receive certification in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR for the professional rescuer & AED administration.
Prerequisites:
American Red Cross Training - Must be 15 yrs of age, swim 300 yards- back breast and free, retrieve a 10 lbs weight from the bottom of the deep water, swim to surface and to side, swim 20-25 yards retrieve weight from bottom of shallow pool, swim with weight 20-25 yards with weight above the water swim under water for 20 ft. Tread water for 2 min.
Saturdays- 1pm to 6pm and Sundays-11am to3pm Starting: March 20-28
Recertification Course for Lifeguarding: Saturdays- 1pm to 6pm and Sundays-11am to 3pm Starting: March 6th and 7th

Masters/Swim for Fit
This class is designed to give Tri-Athletes that have a problem swimming, a head start. Stroke will be analyzed for better performance. Class meets 3 days a week.
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 6:15am - 7:15am
Monday and Wednesday 8:00pm to 9:00pm
Fees: 2 days $160 3 days $190
Pre-Swim Team
This class is for kids that may be interested in competitive swimming or fitness swimming. Class meets 2 days a week. Child must be able to swim at the Minnow level or higher in order to enroll. Minimum of 4 students needed for this program to run.
