Older...Wiser...Healthier!!!!
Today's seniors are more active and health conscience than previous generations. At the YMCA, we've made the health and fitness of our seniors a top priority by offering programs and classes for the spirit, mind and body. Through our Individual and Group Wellness classes that increase strength and flexibility, social events, and volunteer opportunities, the YMCA is bringing active seniors together for fitness, fellowship, and fun!
We believe that long life should be embraced as a gift and a privilege, and people live happier and healthier lives when they remain independent. AOA at the YMCA of Norwalk service programs reach out to solve problems that threaten independence. Some people need only a bit of worldly, wise information from our AOA program service. For others, our fitness staff may bring order and balance to their lives, providing just the help that's needed to get them back on their feet. The services described are only some of the many ways to help seniors in the community. WHAT ARE FRIENDS FOR? It's a fact that people with lots of friends are healthier, happier and they are less likely to need social service assistance. Making friends is an intimate, personal thing, but wouldn't it be wonderful if AOA programs at the YMCA of Norwalk could help it happen? AOA recognizes the importance of helping people help themselves. That's why we build friendships at our YMCA. So what can I do?
